Everything I read about and watch on tv today is about the sordid details of Rick Pitino, his wife, Joanne Pitino and Karen Sypher. Karen Sypher accused Rick Pitino of assault, rape and of him offering her money to have an abortion, Pitino claims he shagged her and that the sex was consensual. Karen Sypher asked for money in exchange for her silence. Well is as reported Pitino did pay her for the silence as well as a reported abortion, does that make Sypher a hooker? I think so. I have no sympathy for either of them to be honest, it would have been a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle for Rick Pitino to just book a Adult Vacation with us, fucked his brains out for a week and gone home without having to worry about scandal and character assassination. Now I am in no way saying that Sypher is ugly, I mean I am sure she will scrub up well but come on, she aint no Spring Chicken is she? The other week the French once again caused mayhem for us European tourists when they closed the English Channel. A fleet of French fisherman got themselves all wound up about their fishing quotas. British fishermen would have signed a petition and marched round Westminster waving their tackle in the air. But that’s not good enough for the French. They had to block off the ferry ports with their boats and bring everything to a seaborne standstill. It was utter chaos with thousands of lorries en route to France parked all the way along the M20 in Kent. Passengers were stranded on both sides of the Channel and no-one was getting anywhere. If the French fishing folk have genuine grievances about their livelihood, then fair enough. But crippling everyone’s trade, tourism and reputation wasn’t brilliant, was it? So let’s hope the situation gets sorted before the French run out of cider, and we run out of onions and Garlick.

I see that the latest employment stats in the UK don’t look too good, but I was more startled when I read the lastest US financial press and saw that Ohio unemployment has more or less doubled this year. Ohio’s unemployment figures show that 666,200 are now unemployed which is nearly 11% of the population. Sentencing a Jamaican drugs dealer to two years in jail, Judge Ian Trigger told him:
